Increasing resilience, developing self-awareness and reducing stress using SOMATIC EXPERIENCING©
This course is aiming for clients, who are facing difficulties knowing or deploying their personal strength to overcome stress and trauma.
Offering contents of how stress and trauma affects people, it also shows how to strengthen their intra personal resilience.
While giving a short insight to understand undergoing reactions of the body and mind using theory based on Dr. Peter Levine, it furthermore concentrates on increasing the already existing resilience and focuses on developing skills to allow a better handling of stress and trauma.
Somatic Experiencing according to Dr. Levine, describes a psychophysiological approach to treat shock- as well as developmental trauma.
Although this class can ease stress and enable resilience factors to evolve, this course does not replace therapy.
Taking small steps, I will enable the attendees to strengthen their resilience and develop new skills whilst focusing on regulating the nervous system.
The following contents will be contemplated:
- What are my already existing resilience factors?
- How self-awareness helps maintaining a positive attitude
- What and who helped me overcoming difficult times so far?
- What is happening if trauma or stress occurs?
- How can I increase my resilience?
- How can I become more regulated and relaxed?
This coursework is concentrating on the here and now, intends to support the attendees and is suitable to accompany ongoing therapy.
